Today is my Grandmas 89th birthday. I feel that she deserves a fun birthday. So I am trying to make plans for a birthday dinner and movie and cake with NO EFFORT from anyone else in my family. I am very annoyed to say the least! It is like people didnt think she would make it and now that she has they don't want to take the time to acknowledge her 89 years of service. It may be silly but it just makes me sad. Being old is rough. NO THANK YOU!

My two cents: Sometimes people just get all caught up in their own thing and they neglect to acknowledge someone else. It's not very gracious, but...
must be forgiven; they know not what they do. At the same time, I also understand that it is difficult on your end. My mom faces that a lot with her parents who are now aging, and she does way more for them than her sisters do. I am sorry for your frustration.

you are so wise.
